Consultation every time
Every service starts with a short consultation. You tell us what you're after; we tell you what'll actually work for your hair type, face shape, and the cut you walked in with. Non-negotiable: a three-minute conversation at the start of the booking is the difference between the cut you asked for and the cut you wanted.
Walk-ins
The shop is appointment-led through Squire. Walk-ins are welcome when the chair is open. Check the Squire availability live before you head over, or call the shop. Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings are the peak slots: expect those to be fully booked.
Hair type range
Our barbers work across hair types. Straight, wavy, curly, coiled, thick, thin, greying, textured. This is something reviewers specifically call out, and it's worth saying directly: you will not be turned away or rushed through the chair because your hair is outside the shop's usual work. All of it is our usual work.
Products
We use professional-grade products on the finish. Clients are welcome to request a specific product line or ask for a recommendation for home use. Retail product list coming soon.
Kids
The 30-minute Standard Haircut service accommodates younger clients. Call or message the shop before booking the first visit so we can pair the right barber and book the right time slot.
Gift cards

I have thick, slightly curly hair and most shops in Waterloo either buzz it short or give up. Stray Dog actually works with it. The scissor cut I booked with Liam was the first time in a while I left a barbershop feeling like the haircut was built for my hair instead of against it.
